Category:MySQL9:30 p.m. update: Hurricane Sandy has closed the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel and the Williamsburg Bridge. The Battery Tunnel is still open to northbound traffic at Fort Greene and Canal St. However, all southbound traffic is being diverted over the Brooklyn Bridge.
As of 10 p.m., the bridges are closed, as well as the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway and the Cross Bay Pkwy. The Holland Tunnel remains open, as does the Lincoln Tunnel.
Police are reporting that significant flooding is occurring in the New Jersey communities along the Mid-Hudson.
